Bartlett, Truman Howe (1835-1923)
Scope:
The bulk of the collection consists of photographs, correspondence, notes, interviews, reminiscences, research material, and manuscripts regarding the physiognomical study of Abraham Lincoln.  In addition, the collection includes several portraits and other photographs of Lincoln, as well as several photos of Lincoln's contemporaries, portraits of Lincoln's relatives, and sculptures of Lincoln and others.  Also present are maps, newspapers, clippings, memorabilia, and other items regarding the American Civil War.

The collection also includes personal material relating to Bartlett's son, Paul W. Bartlett.  There are a small number of documents covering Bartlett's personal life and artistic interests.  His professorship at MIT is limited in documentation, as is his artistic relationship with the Boston Terra-Cotta Company.
