Brookhouse, Christopher (1938- )
Scope:
The Christopher Brookhouse collection consists of manuscripts, printed material, correspondence, and an audio recording.

Manuscripts by Brookhouse in the collection include Scattered Light (poetry, University of North Carolina Press, 1969), including some material revised using suggestions by William Phillips; Running Out (novel, Little, Brown, 1970); Wintermute (novel, Dutton, 1978); The Tepee Trick (play, 1983); Dear Otto (Permanent Press, 1995); The Light Between the Fields (Signal Books, 1998); and some short stories.  Also present is a manuscript for Legion: Civic Choruses, by William Harmon (ca. 1971).

Printed material in the collection includes published short stories and poetry by Brookhouse.

Correspondence in the collection includes personal and professional letters, dating from 1968 to 1972, with one letter from 1995.  Notable correspondents include John Updike, William Phillips, Anthony Burgess, Doris Betts, Jerzy Kosinski, and Raphael Soyer.

The audio recording in the collection is a tape of an interview with Doris Betts in 1973.
