Scope:
The Michael Cooney collection consists of manuscripts, printed material, and correspondence.

Manuscripts by Cooney in the collection include the novel Lacy Bowes (Chatto and Windus, 1971); Think Five (unpublished); "The Anarchists," a short story; and The Shot: A Play in Three Acts, Being an Enquiry Into the Mysterious Death of Artist/Monk Vincent van Gogh.

Printed material in the collection consists of "Enjoying Yorkshire's Waters," a tourist pamphlet edited by Cooney, written for the Yorkshire Water Authority (1979); "Woods, Woods, Everywhere and Not a Pub in Sight," copy of an article regarding Cooney's trip to the Soviet Union; an invitation to the 11th annual reunion dinner of the First Parachute Battalion, British Army (1980); and a copy of a newspaper clipping with a handwritten note by Cooney.

Correspondence in the collection consists of two letters from Cooney to Rollo G. Silver, both dated 1975.
