Craig, William (1929-1997)
Scope:
The William Craig collection consists of manuscripts, audio, photographs, and memorabilia.

the manuscript drafts in the collection are accompanied by Craig's research material used as background for the books.  Titles include The Fall of Japan (1967), including maps, notes, clippings, government reports, an interview, and other items; The Tashkent Crisis (a 1971 novel, also titled Ultimatum); Enemy at the Gates: The Battle of Stalingrad (1973), including correspondence and printed material (some in Russian), personal accounts from military personnel involved in the battle, combat reports, interviews, and newspaper articles; and The Strasbourg Legacy (1975), including transcripts of interviews, newspaper clippings, notes, and battle maps (some in Russian).  The collection also contains several notebooks with notes on various subjects.

Audio recordings in the collection include a number of open-reel tapes and mini cassettes; as well as a number of record albums from Craig's personal collection.  

Photographs in the collection include black and white photos of Harry S. Truman and the scroll presented by the U.S. to the city of Stalingrad; and baseball photographs of individual Red Sox players.  

Personal memorabilia includes a press pass to Fenway Park; an address book, not in English; a yearbook from Cambridge High and Latin School (1947); a scrapbook concerning The Tashkent Crisis; and scrapbook pages concerning Craig’s books and baseball.  There is also a Bachelor of Science Diploma from Columbia University (1961).
