Curtiss, Ursula (1923-1984)
Scope:
The Ursula Curtiss collection consists of manuscripts for her novels (all published by Dodd, Mead) Danger: Hospital Zone (1966); Don’t Open the Door (1968); Letter of Intent (1971); The Birthday Gift (1976); In Cold Pursuit (1977); The Poisoned Orchard (1980); Dog in the Manger (1982); Death of a Crow (1983); and the short stories “The Old Barn on the Pond,” “The Senior Citizen,” and “The House on Plymouth Street” (the latter published in Cosmopolitan, 1980).  Also present in the collection is a copy of an article by H. L. Mencken (a book review of the novel Command, by William McFee), inscribed to Curtiss by William McFee; and a copy of a letter from William McFee to John Kieran from 1958 regarding Curtiss’s work.
