The Petru Dumitriu collection consists of manuscripts, printed materials, and other material.
Manuscripts in the include Dumitriu’s novels, such as Incognito (1962), L'extreme Occident (1964), Le Sourire Sarde (1967), L’homme Aux Yeux Gris (1968), Les Jeux Serieux, Variables, Voyage a Karaschar, and Rendezvous Au Jugement Dernier. Many of the additional manuscripts are non-fiction, including The Possible Revolution, "Casanova oder der Zufällige," and a few dozen political essays composed in English, as well as a number of unidentified manuscripts. Nearly all manuscripts are marked with holograph annotations.
Collected printed materials primarily pertain to articles published by Dumitriu in various publications. Also included are essays and reviews by Dumitriu, reviews of Dumitriu's works, and articles about Dumitriu, as well as four copies of Le Monde.
Additional items include photographs, a thesis about Dumitriu, and an interview with Mircea Mariau.
