Flemyng, Robert (1912-1995)
The Robert Flemyng collection includes scripts and writings, correspondence, personal memorabilia, printed materials, legal materials, financial materials, photographs, and scrapbooks.

The collection includes scripts for Antigone and The Chalk Garden. Also present are two eulogies composed by Flemyng, as well as an essay on playwright John Whiting.

Correspondence in the collection includes personal and professional content. Letters and telegrams to members of the Flemyng family are collected alongside exchanges with Flemyng's peers and industry executives. Notables include Binkie Beaumont, Peter Bull, Katharine Cornell, Margalo Gillmore, John Gielgud, Alec Guinness, Guthrie McClintic, Laurence Olivier, John Perry, Terry Rattigan, Michael Redgrave, Irene Worth, and others.

The collection's personal memorabilia pertains largely to Flemyng's military career, including photocopies of the Cyprus Regiment Pack Companies history (1939-1945). Wartime correspondence is also present, as is assorted ephemera.  

Printed materials include news clippings, performance reviews, programs, and other materials. Subject files contain numerous reviews and programs from Flemyng's theatrical career, documenting productions of The Cherry Orchard, Don Quixote, Julius Caesar, The Kingfisher, My Fair Lady, and The Seagull.

The collection includes three items that contain contractual and legal content.

Also included are Flemyng's financial records.

Collected photographs include approximately 250 prints of theatre and film productions. The majority of included items are 8 x 10" black and white prints.

A 1933 scrapbook containing performance reviews, programs, and miscellaneous materials are present, as well.
