Mosley, Nicholas (1923-2017)

The Nicholas Mosley collection includes manuscripts, correspondence, printed materials, professional materials, legal and financial materials, photographs, scrapbooks, artwork, and other materials.

Manuscripts in the collection include his books and novels Spaces of the Dark (1951); African Switchback (1958); Corruption (1958); Catastrophe Practice (1989); Serpent (1990); Beyond the Pale: Sir Oswald Mosley, 1933-1980 (1991); Judith (1991); Efforts at Truth (1995); Julian Grenfell: His Life and the Times of his Death: 1888-1915 (1976); Children of Darkness and Light (1997); and the unpublished works titled Useless, and A Garden of Trees. Other books and novels are also included.

Other manuscripts in the collection include both dated and undated scripts, screenplays, and treatments, including Hopeful Monsters, Tasmania Story, Assassins, and The Assassination of Trotsky (1971).

Correspondence in the collection includes letters to and from Mosley about various books and scripts dating from 1952 to 1995.

Printed materials in the collection include two book jackets for Julian Grenfell: His Life and the Times of his Death: 1888-1915, proofs, various pamphlets and booklets, and over 95 newspaper and magazine articles and reviews for various published works of Mosley.

Professional materials in the collection include a research file, subject files, notebooks and journals dated between 1988 and 1989, and various notes by and about Mosley.

Legal and financial materials in the collection include contracts, receipts, and royalty statements.

Photographs in the collection include both black and white and color prints of Mosley and his family.

Scrapbooks in the collection include one scrapbook including articles and clippings by Mosley (1960’s).

Artwork in the collection includes various excerpts from sketch books, watercolor sketches, and cover illustrations for Corruption.

Other materials in the collection include notebooks and various pressed flowers.
