Moyes, Patricia (1923-2000)
The Patricia Moyes collection includes manuscripts, printed material, legal material, financial material, photographs, correspondence, and memorabilia.

Manuscripts in the collection include the manuscript for two versions of her novel Twice in a Blue Moon (Holt, 1993); drafts of several short stories by Moyes; drafts of essays by Moyes; and a musical adaptation of John Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress, by Moyes.  Also present is some biographical and bibliographical information about Moyes.

Printed material in the collection includes an interview with Moyes by Jan Broberg, published in Good Detective; articles, reviews, and various other publications (1954-2000), including a story by Moyes copied from a newspaper; programs for three theatre performances (1952, 1957, 1983); five newsletters, and member directories for the Mystery Writers of America and the Detection Club.  Also present is a scrapbook containing a review of Moyes’ work, as well as published short stories of hers (1963-1968).

Legal material in the collection includes publishing contracts (1959-1995), Swiss travel permits (1958, 1962), Moyes’ British citizenship certificate (1975), her British passport (1982), and other items.

Financial material in the collection consists of royalty statements, receipts, and invoices.

Photographs in the collection include prints with images of Moyes and her friends and family.

Correspondence in the collection consists of several letters to and from Moyes, dating from 1958 to 2000.

Memorabilia in the collection includes Moyes’ membership card to the Author’s Guild; a map of Muncie, Indiana; a lock of Moyes’ hair, taken when she was two years old; a medallion from the Alcyone Circle Rally (1970); and other items.
