The Cabell Phillips collection consists of manuscripts, printed materials, correspondence, and other materials.
Published works include The Truman Presidency (Macmillan, 1966); From the Crash to the Blitz: The 1930s (Macmillan, 1969); and The 1940s (Macmillan, 1975). The collection also includes shorter and unpublished works by Phillips.
Printed items include clippings, reviews, review copies, and other items.
Correspondence consists of personal and professional material written between 1943 and 1975. Correspondents of note include J. Edgar Hoover, Alfred A. Knopf, J. William Fulbright, Strom Thurmond, Harry Truman, and Gerald R. Ford.
The collection also includes professional materials, photographs, scrapbooks, memorabilia, and other materials.
