Procter, Maurice (1906-1973)
The Maurice Procter collection includes manuscripts, correspondence, printed materials, film and video materials, and photographs.

Manuscripts in the collection include Procter’s novels Moonlight Flitting (1963), His Weight in Gold (1966), Rogue Running (1966), Exercise Hoodwink (1967), Two Men in Twenty (1974), A Body to Spare (2012), and others, as well as the teleplays for Backlash and No Hiding Place; drafts for Hell is a City by T.J. Morrison; a draft for The End of the Street (1949); and many pieces of short fiction by Procter. Foreign language editions of many of Procter’s novels are also included in the collection.

Correspondence in the collection includes both personal and professional materials dated between 1959 and 1965, some undated.

Printed material in the collection includes book reviews and clippings from various publications regarding Procter’s novels, as well as short stories by Procter, many printed in magazines.

Film and video in the collection includes the 1959 DVD for Hell is a City.

Photographs in the collection include a black and white photograph of Procter and 3 black and white postcards of a young Procter with his family.
