The Jo Sinclair collection consists of manuscripts, printed material, correspondence, and personal memorabilia.
Manuscripts includes notes, drafts, revisions, and final versions of Sinclair's novels, radio plays and scripts, radio broadcasts, stage plays, television plays, and countless short stories. Drafts include Wasteland (1946), Sing at my Wake (1951), and The Changelings (1955), as well as an autobiography among many others. The collection contains almost 250 short stories written by Sinclair in the course of her life
Printed material includes articles and short stories published in various publications including Esquire, Reader's Digest, Harper's, and Cosmopolitan among many others. In addition, the collection houses news clippings, reviews of books and plays, and personal copies of magazines and journals belonging to or collected by Sinclair
Correspondence in the collection includes letters from publishers, agents, and friends and family, mostly concerning short stories and plays, with a few royalty statements. Notable correspondents include Whit Burnett, Martha Foley, Harriet Monroe, Arnold Gingrich, Robert Penn Warren, Blanche Knopf, Robert Lowry, Malvina Thompson, Frances Bolton, Helen Strauss, and Edward Aswell.
Personal memorabilia in the collection consists of juvenilia and photographs of Sinclair's family and friends.
