Manuscripts within the collection include drafts of the novels The Crozier Case (1973), Dear Laura (1972) including notes with character analysis; The Golden Crucible (1972), Elanora Duse (1971), Hanrahan's Colony (1964), The Ironmaster (1981), Kelly Park (1992), Kit's Hill (1980), Like We Used to Be (1989), A Long Way to Go, My Grand Enemy (1967), The Northern Correspondent (1984), The Painted Face (1974), The Rose Grower (1960), The Straw Crown (1966), Summer Secrets (1991), The Unknown Welshman (1972) including printed research notes, and The Vivian Inheritance (1981). Also present are several short stories; historical notes for future novels; promotional material for Kitt's Hill and Dear Laura, and notes for The Vivian Inheritance.
Printed material in the collection includes copies of the novels Charades, Kitty Oglivie, Like We Used to Be, The Northern Correspondent (1982), The Painted Face, The Passing Star, The Trail of Mary Blandy, and Summer Faces (1989). Also included are several articles, lectures, and review from the 1970s.
Correspondence in the Stubbs collection consist of professional letters to Jean Stubbs from Macmillan London and St. Martin's Press concerning proof reading manuscripts.
