The Michael Talbot collection consists of manuscripts, correspondence, printed material, personal memorabilia, and financial material.

Manuscripts include a draft of Assault (1967), written under the pseudonym Michael Kelly; a draft of  "Neither Shame Nor Pity," with a related notebook; a draft for "The Alchemy of Distance"; and notes for radio programs, both titled and untitled.

Correspondence ranges from 1966 to 1980, and primarily concerns business correspondence from publishers.  

Printed material includes reduced-size photo reproductions of reviews for Assault.

Personal memorabilia includes an Australian Red Cross membership card; a City of Albany Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade membership; an Albany Pistol Club Chester Pass Branch SSAA card; and a Sporting Shooters Association of Australia membership card.

Financial material includes business contracts from 1966, 1967, and 1969; certificates of deduction of income tax royalties from Hodder and Stoughton; statements of royalties and subsidiary rights from Hodder and Stoughton; bank statements from 1971 and 1972; and receipts from Talbot's first visit to the United States in 1987.
