Whittlesey, Faith R. (1939-2018)
The collection of Faith Whittlesey consists of manuscript material for various speeches primarily made in the context of her ambassadorship to Switzerland and as a political candidate.  There are also extensive files of correspondence with letters to Whittlesey from a wide range of notable figures, including several from President Ronald Reagan, press magnate Rupert Murdoch, First Lady Barbara Bush, and Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.  The collection also includes numerous files regarding Whittlesey's daily schedules, reports, internal documents and agendas, as well as material related to her travel records, foreign tours, and expenditures.

The collection contains numerous scrapbooks of clippings on Faith Whittlesey's activities in Central America, with the Reagan-Bush Campaign (1984), and at the White House.  There are photo albums, as well as files of individual photographs documenting her swearing-in ceremony (1985); Whittlesey and her family at the White House (1985); photographs with George H.W. and Barbara Bush; Ronald and Nancy Reagan; and Gerald Ford, to name a few.  Other general files include material on the House of Representatives Sub-Committee on International Operations, Committee on Foreign Affairs (1987).

Audio material in the collection includes "Ambassador Private Interview Freely Speaking with Gina Lewis, 10/16/85" (2 cassette tapes); and seven undated audio cassette tapes of various speaking engagements and radio appearances made by Whittlesey.

Memorabilia includes a plaque and certificate of appreciation to Whittlesey from the U.S. Embassy in Switzerland and a medal from the Ambassador of Israel.
