Scope:
The George Cruikshank collection consists of manuscripts, printed material, and a photograph.

Manuscripts by Cruikshank in the collection include the title page and introduction from "The Bachelor’s Own Book"; text and illustrations for "The Tooth-Ache," written by Horace Mayhew and illustrated by Cruikshank; and drafts, proofs, and miscellaneous pages regarding "J.W. Howell’s Bubble of the General Industry Life and Fire Assurance and Sick-Fund Friendly Society, Burst."

Printed material in the collection includes a pamphlet version of "J.W. Howell’s Bubble...” (ca. 1856 or 1857); a prospectus for "the General Industry Life and Fire Assurance and Sick-Fund Friendly Society" (ca. 1856); a pamphlet for the Society for the Management and Distribution of the Artist’s Fund (1857); and a pamphlet regarding "Edward Noble the Utopian" (undated).

The photograph in the collection is a black and whtie photo of Cruikshank.
