Bud Collins: Sports Journalist - Champion of Champions

This exhibition celebrates the life and career of legendary sportscaster Bud Collins. A giant in the field of sports journalism, Collins had a brief stint as a professional tennis player but found his greatest success as a reporter, first at The Boston Herald and The Boston Globe, then as a television sportscaster for CBS Sports, NBC Sports, ESPN and other networks. He is widely credited with helping raise the profile of tennis in the United States--especially women's tennis--to the level of a major international sport. The exhibition features personal and professional photographs, awards, articles written by Collins (including early pieces on Muhammad Ali), book manuscripts, television script pages, correspondence and memorabilia.

On view through August 2016 in the Howard Gotlieb Memorial Gallery, 1st Floor, Mugar Memorial Library. Open during regular library hours.
