Theodore Roosevelt and the Spanish-American War

This three-case exhibition explored future United States President Theodore Roosevelt's role leading up to and during the Spanish-American War of 1898.

Primarily featuring material from the Theodore Roosevelt Collection at the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center, the exhibition featured material from Roosevelt's time shortly before the War as Assistant Secretary of the Navy pushing for US Naval expansion, and during the War as his Rough Riders landed in Cuba. The exhibition also featured material dealing with the American Anti-Imperialism League and numerous pamphlets dealing with the occupation of the Philippines.

This exhibition is no longer on display.
