W. E. B. Du Bois

 

This small exhibition celebrates the life and work of author, historian, sociologist, editor, and civil rights activist W. E. B. Du Bois and was created in collaboration with the conference, "W. E. B. Du Bois and the History & Philosophy of Science," March 29, 2019.

The exhibition features correspondence between Du Bois and novelist Jay Williams, and journalist and social activist Carleton Beals. It also feature pages from Du Bois' The Nation book review of Truman Nelson's novel The Surveyor, as well as a rare third edition of Du Bois' The Souls of Black Folks.

Located in the Gotlieb Memorial Gallery on the first floor of Mugar Memorial Library. The exhibition can be viewed during regular library hours.
