From Manuscript to Moveable Type: The Information Shift That Brought About Modern Learning

This exhibition examined the information shift caused by the advent of the printing press and its effects on modern learning. Featured items included a 9th Century Hymnal Leaf; a Leaf from the Gutenberg Bible (c. 1454); a 15th Century Book of Hours Leaf; and an excerpt from William Shakespeare's First Folio (1623). From Manuscript to Moveable Type is a collaboration between the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center and the Center for Interdisciplinary Teaching & Learning at the Boston University College of General Studies.
