The Moment of Crisis #5
Date:
Mar. 9, 1958
Description:
Mar. 9, 1958. Running time: 38:24. Thurman continues the series with the idea that an individual is being manipulated, even if he seems to be acting on free will. He relates the story of the unknown prophet of the exiles, who watched from a distance as the Jewish people in Babylon were released from prison.  The prophet was disappointed because the newly released prisoners did not return to Jerusalem to become the "tutors of mankind."  He comes to realize that it is through suffering that "the redemptive spirit of the living God can be operative and effective."
