What Shall I Do With My Life
May 15, 1968
May 15, 1968. Running time: 1:01:41. In this address from the University of Redlands, Thurman uses the temptations of Jesus to explore personal and social temptations in the modern world. When the individual thinks that she is not bound by the same things that bind other human beings she tempts God to destroy. Temptations in the modern world are driven by technology, science, and an attempt to exert control over nature. Thurman suggests that we must work to redeem the social order from the temptations of modernity.
