Quests of the Human Spirit: The Quest for the Eternal
Sep. 20, 1964
Sep. 20, 1964. Running time: 46:57. Thurman introduces the quest for the eternal as something intrinsically related to the quest for the "temporary and the limited." That is, we often think of the eternal as something invisible and just beyond our grasp in this lifetime; however, Thurman tries to reorient our view of the eternal as our experience of God. According to Thurman, our experience of God is literal fact, but our interpretation of that experience is an invention of our mind.
