Jesus and the Disinherited #7: Fear of God
Mar. 8, 1959
Mar. 8, 1959. Running time: 36:46.Fear is the emotional response to danger and has an affect an organism. Jesus understood this and tried to help people fight this fear. Jesus taught people that they are all children of God. Dr. Thurman refers to a story told to him by his grandmother about an old slave man who preached to the other slaves that they are children of God. Knowing this can bring a sense of internal serenity and strength against dangers from outside. The religion of Jesus feeds an individual's inner strength when a person accepts that they are a child of God and live responsibly by God's wishes.
